It depends on the particular college. Many schools (such as mine, the
University of Michigan) do not require any math classes at all to
graduate from the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Math is
also not a part of a psychology major at U-M. At some schools, however,
you might have to take precalc to graduate. Some liberal arts schools
require that their graduates compete certain math classes, and precalc
could definitely be on that list. It all depends on the school. If you
look in the College of Arts/ Science/ Literature at your college, you
should be able to find their general education requirements; that should
tell you whether or not you need to take precalc.
